Yesterday was a day of firsts for me. I ran my first 5K, and tasted my first french macaron. I'm glad to say both were happy experience's! :-) Here are a few photos...
Me & my bestie Em. She is a seasoned runner (she ran a half marathon last fall!) and my running paragon. :-) Love you Em!!
I got my raspberry macaron from a local bakery. I've read a few blogs where people said they didn't like them, or they weren't all they're made out to be. But I must say this one was delicious! I'll definitely be making some soon.
The color's on my purse were so pretty with the pink of the macaron, that I had to get it in the photo too!
Mom got a Chocolate Hazelnut macaron. The filling was Nutella! This one was SO GOOD.
I hope everyone had a happy weekend!!

I sat down with the intention of sharing some of my goals for 2011 with you, but was sidetracked by a link I saw on my dashboard. I clicked on it. It was a link to Kayla Aimee's blog. And I can no longer think about goals. Only about Charlie.
"The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away." Job 1:21
"And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good" Romans 8:28
Again I have no words. Except LOVE. And ENJOY. Enjoy your children, your siblings, your husband, your parents, your friends. Smile at the stranger in the coffee shop. Give the clerk at the store a friendly "Have a nice day!" Who knows what their story is. What they're going through at the moment.
And so good night, or good morning, or good afternoon, where ever you are.

a few weeks ago we went on a field trip to an old mine (up near you Serena!) with our history co-op. it was a long, hot day, but we had fun. afterwards, Moriah's family went with us to a yummy burger joint that had THE best homemade root beer ever. yum!
my friend Annie taking a picture of me taking a picture of her. :-)
there were two of these elk heads (i think that's what they were) and a giant moose head hanging in an old dance hall sort of place.
there were some beautiful rose gardens; the smell was delightful.
i made Moriah take the customary bathroom shot with me. :-)
these old books were SO hard not to pick up.

Happy Monday!!
last week some of my friends and i were invited by our friend Katie to go bowling with her bible study group. bowling, it sounded innocent enough. :-) well, she said we had to dress as princesses or nerds. fun!!! i went shopping at some thrift stores to try and find a princess dress, but was unsuccessful. i found a pretty dress at Target though! we all had a great time, and went out to ice cream afterwards. thank you Katie for inviting me!
mom put my hair in foam curlers. right before i had to leave she took them out. this is my "mom!!! i look like a poodle! i have to leave in five minutes! fix this!!" face. ;-)
this is me and the princesses and nerd we picked up on the way to the bowling alley. from left to right: Faith, Moriah, Me, and Pansy.
we found this goofy looking girl (on the left) and her sweet sister (on the right) at the bowling alley. they looked kinda like nerds so we let them bowl with us. just kidding! these are my dear friends Em and Lu. :-)
i love this photo of Faith!
bowling shoes are awesome! oh, and Pansy bowled bare foot! she is one courageous girl. :-)
